শিশু শ্রম এই শব্দ দুটির সাথে আমরা প্রত্যেকেই পরিচিত। কম বা বেশি আমরা সকলেই জানি যে কি কারনে এই শিশুশ্রম দেখা যায়। তবে আমার দৃষ্টিকোণ থেকে যে কারণগুলো এটার জন্য দায়ী আমি সেগুলো উপস্থাপন করছি:-
ক) নিরক্ষরতা
খ) দারিদ্রতা
গ) সমাজ ব্যবস্থা ও
ঘ) ভৌগলিক অবস্থান

এছাড়াও অনেক কারণ আছে, তবে এগুলোই মনে হয় শিশু শ্রমের জন্য দায়ী। আমার আসে পাশেই দেখেছি পরিবারের দারিদ্রতা দূর করতে বা পরিবারের হাল ধরতে প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয়ে অধ্যয়নরত অনেক মেধাবী শিক্ষার্থী ঝরে পড়ে। এমনকি যে বয়সে হাতে বই-খাতা ও কলম থাকার কথা সেই বয়সেই হাতে তুলে নিয়েছে কুড়াল, কোদাল ও অটোরিকশা।

Some families forced their children to labour due to their debts. Especially in rural areas, parents forced their kids to work in factories or fields with the hope of repaying their debt. Not only that, there are some cases where orphaned or abandoned children go into the hands of traffickers and end up as child workers.

_{Our colleague highlighted the issue of families compelling their children to engage in labour as a means to repay debts. Additionally, she discussed the alarming presence of child traffickers who exploit orphaned children by subjecting them to forced labour. Consequently, I have included this contribution in our compilation of noteworthy insights.}
