Those days were golden days with respect to communication with one another. You may be wondering how simple it was and how cheap it was with simple communication through writing on Indian Postcards. It was a transparent communication option, writing specifically in the writer's own handwriting, which gives immense pleasure and emotional feelings of personal touch on seeing the handwritten message on the postcard.

The postcard is a simple one. One can write fully on the front page and half of the space on the reverse side. The other side takes the receiver's postal address. Though the communication was open to reading by anybody who accessed the postcard, it gave immense pleasure to write on the card, which was so cheap. It was priced at just 5 paise on those days. The beauty was that the card was delivered the next day itself when it was put into the post office letterbox on the previous day. Those were the days in the 50s and 60s. It was a thrill to expect a postcard from the postman who was delivering letters to the home address.

In this new era, everything has changed. Letter-writing habit on the postcard has gone. Modern technology has taken its role in communication. As such, the communication is lightning-fast and almost instantly delivered. The computer and the internet systems made it possible for quick and efficient communication, even free of cost. The latest communication apps on mobile phones made this possible. Not only seeing the message but also hearing the voice, besides video calls, makes the world shorter and quicker.

Though modern technology has advanced so much, the old system of writing messages on postcards still brings immense pleasure in seeing the message in the handwriting of the sender, which attaches love and affection to one another. This cannot be equated to seeing the electronic message, however instantaneously it is delivered. As such, old is gold.

We have to accept the modern techniques of communication, considering the advancement of science and technology. We should adopt the latest techniques as the progress of the human race in the global environment. The developments are necessary for the growth of human beings as well as the country in the economic and social fields. it is surprising to note that even now, postcards are available for communication in our country. But alarmingly, the usage of such items has diminished very much. The youngsters are not aware of the postcards that exist now. We have to go along with the world trend as we should not lag behind the modern developments, considering the progress of the country.
