Incredible India monthly contest of August #2| Elements that are likely to dissipate over time.
Which elements do you think will disappear from our lifestyle in the upcoming era? Explain.
In the new age a number of aspects of our present way of life are likely to fade away thanks to advancement of technologies and shifts in human requirements. Cash in its physical form, e.g., is bound to disappear with the increasing adoption of digital payment and the popularity of cryptocurrencies. Analog telephones and even cable television can disappear into the past, being superseded by smart phones, streaming networks, and communication on the internet. The problem of printed newspapers and books may continue to deteriorate as individuals adopt e-readers and online reading.
Guided by artificial intelligence and automation, human manual labor may plummet in a variety of fields. Individual ownership of cars- Even owning vehicles may be reduced by the emergence of autonomous cars and ride sharing. These innovations mirror the move to efficiency, sustainability, and digital connectedness, to create a more connected and innovative future.
Has our lifestyle undergone substantial changes as a result of various transformations? Please justify your perspective.
As a society we have experienced tremendous shifts in our way of living caused by social, technological and economic changes. Technology has had an enormous impact on communication, employment and access of information. As an example, face-to-face communication and mass media have been outdated with the help of smartphones and the internet to instant communication, social networks, and other online services. The workplace culture is also being altered, as remote employment and freelancing is becoming more popular with the use of digital tools.
The patterns of shopping had changed because some individuals were shopping online. Even daily activities have been changed with the use of smart devices, online payment, and online studies. The social values have changed as well and there is a feeling of awareness regarding sustainability, gender equality, and mental health. These changes have altered the way people live today by making it quicker, more IT-linked and technology-dependent.
According to you, which are the useful changes, and which are not.
These lifestyle modifications have been very effective and others have been of concern. The positive shifts are in the digital communication, internet-based learning and e-business, since they are more convenient, time-saving and they allow accessing information and opportunities worldwide. Improved technology in the health care industry and renewable energy are also much welcome and are playing a significant role in enhancing health and sustainability.
Nevertheless, not every change is welcome. Over dependence on the social media to its extent leads to less physical contact with other people and added stress. Automation, no matter how efficient it is, can also be a menace to jobs and a contributor to the expansion of inequality. As such, the task is not to reject all changes that positively alter the lives of people, but to regulate the distances that changes have adverse impacts on the society.
