Completing the Incomplete " Titanic the Historic Romantic Disaster "

When I was completing this drawing someone asked me whether Titanic is a Historic Disaster or an Epic Romantic Movie or both?

I didn't ask him if he was judging Titanic on the basis of the Movie or the history behind that ship. Because when I was drawing this picture of Jack Dawson, the free-spirited artist, and Rose DeWitt Bukater, the wealthy yet emotionally suffocated young woman I would say, so many things were coming to my mind. Both of them broke the barriers of love but Titanic couldn't see the barriers it had to cross.

Their love blossoms and Jack has shown Rose the world of freedom and passion she never experienced in her life. And Rose has given all the love to Jack and she is not at all brothered about the so called social status. It was the pure love that both shared. We can find that the ship itself serves as a metaphor in this , as it is grand and seemingly invincible yet become ultimately vulnerable at last just like their love, which is short-lived but deeply impactful though painful.

And one of the most heartbreaking though poetic moments is Jack’s sacrifice in the end , staying in the freezing waters so Rose can survive. The final words of Jack was, “ You must do me this honor… promise me you’ll survive,” reflect the true essence of love , the selflessness and all the hope he had. Even decades later, Rose keeps their love, proving that while the Titanic may have sunk, their love never did and we all remember the movie always.

And I have drawn this as an incomplete art, as I believe some beautiful things never needs completion. Wish the Titanic in you never sink.
