I think the scream is a self-portrait of the painter himself, hahaha. At that time the color ultramarine blue was worth so much that paintings were given a value according to the amount of blue used. Although in 1828 synthetic blue was already beginning to be used, it was still not very widespread. For this specific painting, blue was used quite a bit. So I imagine that the painter began to paint and, after realizing all the blue was used up, he got the famous SCREAM.

Since you are completely into blue I am sure this is true. No one can feel the frustration of being out of blue better than you. I wonder if your painting will be more valuable if you only use blue, blue and all the other shades of blue. LOL

And I haven't seen the sea for years. Blue is a color to study. Wonderful. Enviable. Strong. It creates many shades. Your idea is likely to pass through the lab.

The sea with us isn't blue but grey... I haven't seen it for year either.

Did you try that style/technique?

No I didn't.
