Hello everyone! Welcome to this new contest for the Art&Artists community, which consists of sharing photographs of flowers.

This is an open contest for all those who love capturing flowers in different ways with different types of photographic equipment. The goal is to share one or more flower photos while giving them a personal artistic interpretation, allowing all participants to appreciate these magical entities that truly deserve to be photographed.

Everyone is invited to participate, and the aim is to create a positive collective energy around the beauty of flowers, which bring peace and serenity to those who admire them.

THEME OF THE WEEK: CHOCOLATE & ORANGE

Well, I'm not really a romantic person, lol... So I'm not so big on flowers but artistically speaking, I love flower so much and for this contest, would it be acceptable if I my paintings of flowers instead of a photograph? I do not stay in an environment where flowers can be easily seen on the streets, even those who nurture some do not have them for public view but for their private consumption alone.

This a Painting of a Flower Vase I made with chalk pastel about a year ago and I'll be so glad if this contest would be reason for me to pick up my Chalk Pastel and make more paintings of flowers. I shall be waiting to here you opinion on this but before, I would like to welcome you warmly into Art and Artist community once again. Thank you very much for sharing this beautiful contest with us, I personally do find it worth a good ride. 🥰

Excellent painting, and of course it will be considered for the contest. This first, somewhat rough, contest attempt will be reworked, and for the next edition, for the chosen theme, you can submit drawings alluding to the theme, reinterpret the theme, or use other forms of art (e.g., sculptures, beadwork, etc.), all based on the keyword "flower." @wakeupkitty, what do you think? @wakeupkitty, what reference should I include at the end of the post so that it appears in the steemit contest list?

If you mention @disconnect it would appear on the contest list.

Thank you very much for explaining this cause I would really love be make my entries in more traditional but artistic ways such as making drawings, painting, maybe watercolors, I just know I would love it to be in those kind of formats. I also think some people like myself might find it difficult to secure the sight of flowers around and my end up picking up a picture on the internet or then submit to the use of AI, just my opinion though. 😎

That's great, @marcoteixeira

I like what you write and I'm glad you put it in place,

reinterpret it, or use other forms of art.

I agree with you. Let's be artistic and whatever fits to the topic you give should be photographed which can be a second challenge.

If you want the contest to be shown in the list you should add

@ disconnect

at the bottom of your post and

#contest should be the 3rd or 4th hashtag.
Good luck and above all have fun!

My entry

Title: Is it real or not?

I was thinking about how to present a photographic proposal, taking it beyond just the photo. I went out into the garden and saw that the wind had accumulated rubbish around some potted plants. I thought I saw crumpled tissue paper, I went closer and discovered that... (the photo reveals it) Is it paper or flower petals? What do you think?

Difficult to guess. But still, I'm betting on it being paper. Somehow it doesn't remind me of a flower, a living flower, but a flower made of some kind of paper, maybe tissue paper? I will be surprised if it is petals.

⏳⏳ soon the answer.

"Is it paper or flower petals? What do you think?" If it is made of paper, it is an extraordinary work that perfectly reproduces the natural petals. Superb work, whether natural or not! Thank you for sharing. Cheers :)

It's a flower, a real one.

But... How about the orange? And chocolate? 🍫

@ wakeupkitty

I have the same problem as @wakeupkitty. It's winter in my country. I found some old photographs of flowers

The first has a chocolate background and the 2nd.. Let's call the butterfly flower.

One entry dear

In the next edition of this contest, we will broaden our scope to include works of greater artistic range. I liked all the photos; the first one with the bee is enchanting! Cheers :)

If we talk about one photo it would be good to see 1 photo only and the keywords included. It is helpful if you add an example.

Btw you have a post entry with free photos from?
It will be muted. This is not the art we like to see see in this community. You are tagged. Please, take care of title and hashtags.
A good weekend!

A few days ago, I went to a flower shop to give a garland to my girlfriend. I made a garland of flowers there and saw countless chocolate-colored roses standing in the shop's aisle. These roses had been lightly sprinkled with water, which made them look even more attractive. I zoomed in on the picture of this flower 2x and edited it using iPhone editing tools. I hope you like it.

"Dry Flower Composition"
Of course, post-processed in Black and White, my favorite technique adding an abstract layer to a picture.

I hope not too late for this entry, I saw your invitation just a few moments ago :)

If you are in time I don't know but the photo should contain orange and chocolate you could colour something orange 🤔

Long time ago I saw these.

Ah, thank you so much and now I am really confused, as I read this:

"Rules
Share one or more images of flowers, with or without photo editing, but always from an artistic perspective of the photographed subject."

The contest caption image says the same, "flowers" but the theme title is different, you're right. Even more confused, I am, LMAO.

I guess, too late already to make any change. Not the greatest of mine :D

It's a great shoot and the next contest will be better. We all learn. 😉

There are no flowers it's winter!
It will take about 4 months till the first poppy will show.
Good for syrup to calm, sleep, a soar throat or for the different taste.
Chocolate? I would not eat it if I drink this.

I have no idea how to photoshop or change the colour of this photo which I actually don't want since I like it this way.

@gems.and.cookies

I don't know how to Photoshop, never used it. Your photo looks awesome as it is. I can't think of anything to make it better. Just thought of the keywords insect and green for PhotoChain lol.

I looked around the garden and this is the only orange flower I found. A budding bougainvillea flower with a chocolate brown pot at the back.

Wow. Do you have an idea what this flower is called? It's even more aesthetically pleasing with the insect captured with it. I can sense so much warmth in not just the colour of the flower but the forms too, I would really love to know what it is called perhaps I could make more finding about it and then do some artistic experiments with it on the long run. Fantastic shot Kitty! 🤗

Hi, @marcoteixeira

It is always positive to find proactive people, and the fact that you propose a contest to promote "peace" and the participation of the members of the community seems right to me.

BUT... Flower photos????

Steemit is full of photographed flowers everywhere... Where is the creativity and the artistic vein?

Your proposal seems viable to me, but rethink it, give it a twist that includes the visual arts in its broad spectrum.

Based on the theme "flowers as creators of peace" propose a contest in which each member chooses a technique to interpret the flowers beyond the photographic image.
From drawings, doodles, origami, sculpture/modeling, compositions, intervened flowers...

What do you think?

Another question, I understand that you are in charge of the awards, right?

I value your proactivity, rethink the contest and you will have my support.

PS: remember that in Steemit self-voting is a taboo. 🤫🤪

Thank you for the feedback! Please check now if it meets your expectations! Cheers :)

I think I didn't explain myself, sorry.

I see that you only propose another photography contest that is similar to @davidesimoncini's PHOTOCHAIN Challenge TESTNET

Good luck, friend. 🤗

PS: It is understood that the payment of the reward is on your account, and not the community, right?

There is no problem in this way, the contest is quite different in mechanism. The one launched by Marco shows a couple of themes chosen by the organizer, like many other contests. I hope it can get the success it deserves. Good luck!

"Steemit is full of photographed flowers everywhere... Where is the creativity and the artistic vein?"....I think the example presented above may have an "artistic side"… of course, it all comes down to the perspective of the observer and their judgment! I am aware that I will be the one paying the prize… no issues with that! If you can share the contest, I’d be grateful… but if you think it’s not worthy of being featured in the community you manage, no problem at all! Peace :)

Friend, you already launched the contest.

Let's see how people react, I may be the one who is wrong.
My point of view is that opening the range to other techniques besides photography would be more creative.

Remember, this is your community too,

I will share it from my personal account.

Sorry, but in this community the first hashtag is always #artonsteemit!

steemexclusive should not be a first hashtag and the first 4 should be used to describe the topic of the post!

Your first 4 hashtags should be: #artonsteemit #photography #contest #flowers

Note: This contest will not be mentioned by @ disconnect because #contest is not among the first 4 and you did not mention @ disconnect at the bottom of your post.

What exactly stands #country for?
Keep in mind that hashtags are used to find posts by curators and these are also the search words used on the internet.

I have a question: How can one join if there are no flowers? It's no winter with you? And before you ask there are no flowershops around here.

If a new edition of this contest takes place, the lapses will be corrected! Cheers :)

You can always edit and change the hashtags! Why the delay?
