RE: Art Comment Contest #learnwithsteem
I thought that this painting depicts a religious believer who can no longer listen to the songs and melodies of hope in the name of God's words. The eggshell is like a fragile shackle, religious believers rebel trying to get out of things forbidden in teachings that may be considered irrelevant from food to behavior.
I am reminded of the controversy of a popular quote from Karl Marx "Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people", which became even more phenomenal when cut to "Religion is the opium of the people".
So I think it is very important to know the profile of religion as a whole, by trying to understand the essence of its teachings, not just from the behavior of religious adherents. True religion must contain perfect and comprehensive goodness, while humans are not free from mistakes and errors.
What do you think @almaguer @hefestus?

Who says the painter of the eggshell ever listened to talks about god or that music? Since he's famous because of irony I assume he want to show something or better make something clear. How about hypocrism of those who claim to believe and point fingers at others and change the rules to make them fit for them?
Can it be that religion back then was mainly meant to keep the people dumb and fear for their lives while a very small group lived in luxury drinking wine and eating like pigs while singing Halleluja, praise the lord, blah, blah, blah while they in the meanwhile commit every sin?
Coulourful picture you shared.
