Let me answer you. Normal paper is about 80 grams. 300 grams is thicker. The structure is different too (same for watercolour because of the water we use, it's hard on normal paper, too thin, too wet, too crinkled).

I remember my artwork from elementary school always ending up crinkled or flaky when I used watercolor. Sometimes I wish the teacher hadn't restricted us to that medium and had allowed me to use color pencils instead.
