I did not introduce myself in my first post in the community, I want to take this moment to introduce myself, my name is Edriana Franco, I am from Venezuela, Yaracuy state, I am dedicated to the visual arts, from the creation of pieces of art, commissions and teaching children, young people and adults. I work in an academy called the Psychogym Foundation Art School. I work there as an art teacher with a partner in the AEdrian.arte workshop. My passion and life is art, the beauty of nature, what one contemplates in it and leads us to reflect, I also like it. Traveling, I love philosophy, and aesthetics. I would like to slowly share my work in this community, and also share my point of view, I hope it is of interest and pleasure.

About art
I like to experiment with various artistic techniques, and always create new and different things. Before creating, I always like to think and reflect, so that my creative process is interesting and emotional. The themes I work on have to do with the human mind, the desires, thoughts, feelings and emotions that each person feels inside and express them through a surrealist and expressionist aesthetic, although it can vary within each panorama. I put the human figure as the central point, which emphasizes the qualities of the being in the midst of suffering and the storm. On the other hand, I have been enjoying experimenting with sculpture and implementing sculpture in my two-dimensional works to represent high relief and three-dimensionality in my work.

Internal Crack

1000476461.jpg

This is a captivating work made with ink, specifically a pen, using the scribbling technique to give life to a deep and suggestive visual narrative. In this piece, you can see the figure of a woman who is trapped in a context of fragility and intimacy, surrounded by broken mirrors and geometric elements.

Concept:
San Agustín de Hipona
"No vayas fuera de ti, entra dentro de ti, que en tu interior encontrarás la verdad de quién eres".

The work Internal Crack involves us in a vast landscape of the human being, each individual harbors within themselves an internal crack, an abyss that resonates with the voices of their fears and longings. It becomes an allegory of the internal struggles that intertwine with our daily existence, evoking the echo of an inherently complex human condition.

philosophers such as Socrates have urged us to know ourselves. However, this self-knowledge is not an easily accessible exercise; it is riddled with shadows and scars that reveal a duality of being. The crack represents those hidden aspects of our psyche that, although repressed, emerge with force in moments of vulnerability and contemplation. It is the weight of social expectations, unexpressed fears and painful experiences that form an indissoluble part of our identity. In each stroke and each shape, the internal struggle against a world that seems to demand perfection while dismissing our fragilities is materialized. The crack, far from being a sign of weakness, becomes a symbol of resistance; those who recognize its existence are able to transcend the anguish it brings.

My intention is to emphasize the interconnectedness of our stories. No one escapes their own crack; we all carry with us an emotional baggage that, while it can be oppressive, also offers the opportunity for empathy and growth. By sharing our cracks and recognizing those of others, we weave a network of understanding that brings us closer and humanizes us in the uncertainty of existence.

Hola, @edriana.arte
