RE: Art Comment Contest #learnwithsteem
Every artist, working on his painting wants to put in it a meaning that is obvious to everyone or a hidden meaning that is understood only by the artist.
Probably the author of the painting Concert in the Egg who was presumably Hieronymus Bosch decided to make something obvious and he decided to make something hidden.
We are all covered with a kind of shell this applies to both atheists and believers in God.
Some can get out of the shell in the last days of their lives, and someone tries to get out of it throughout their entire life and as soon as it seems that the shell is already behind a new layer of the shell appears.
Someone thinks that his faith in God makes him head and shoulders above others and the Tower of Babel of pride begins to rise on him and someone condemns a musician who playing the flute makes sounds no more pleasant than the cry of a heron but at the same time he may like how a demon in the form of a goat sweetly plays the mandalin.
They all say that they dream of seeing the Eden serpent dead but at the same time they feed him with their sinful thoughts and deeds.
I do not know who exactly painted this picture, because everything is ambiguous here the notes and lyrics of the song in the book will appear only 45 years after the death of Hieronymus Bosch there may be condemnation of the author of this song, who was Thomas Crequillon or on the contrary, Hieronymus Bosch will be considered a prophet and a wonderful musician.
I recall the lines of a book by a pastor friend of mine, who was thinking about the possibility of losing God's salvation... the only thing that can lead to this is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and blasphemy is not swearing, not emotions, it is an attempt to call God's demonic and vice versa, you can't call the demonic God's.
I see something similar in this picture and therefore looking at it, it is very easy to succumb to the temptation of any kind of judgment, and judgment is a sin a trick of Satan.
Read the Bible, there is everything we need even without pictures.
This is really a great review you wrote and by reading you I see the painting from a different point of view. Super since it's different from what the critic wrote. Thanks to you the egg has a meaning. It felt the old group didn't grow and remained the same from the moment they were born too afraid to leave, note even if they are robbed by another. Strange, how people rather suffer than getting out and trying something new.

There are many things that a person cannot change, he only thinks that he is able to do something without God's help, but everything is His will, because He knows our hearts and does not do what we are not ready for, does not force us to make any important decision, in this the Father gives us freedom.
Such freedom can be seen in this picture, we are free to think that its author is Basch, or to think that someone forged the style of this artist and decided to sell the picture at a higher price, we can think about plageasure on the part of the author of the musical work and about the foresight of the author of the picture.
Note that paradise is presented very poorly in this picture, post-apocalyptic, bare trees without leaves, but the apple of good and evil is untouched ... it looks like a deception, and as for hell, in the lower right corner, everything is true there. The turtle is probably a symbol of the fact that we quickly hide our heads in our shells at the first sign of something incomprehensible, but are slow in making the right decisions... probably.
If I think of a turtle I think of eternal wisdom and one of the oldest species surviving millions of years.
Thanks for the review. It's a delight to read it. Do you have some art to share you like?
Have you seen a hungry turtle?
If you watch such a turtle, which strives for treats and completely forgets about any danger, thoughts about its wisdom will immediately dissolve lol :)
Someone wanted us to associate wisdom with a turtle and millions of years against the background of the five-thousand-year history of the Earth described in the Bible is a bit too much.
There was a time when I knew by heart the names and authors of most of the paintings from the art galleries of the world, but that was a long time ago, I like a lot, but I think about them only when I accidentally see them, as in this case.
I am very far from the skill of those artists, but I try not to think about other people's work, since I try to draw something myself, otherwise, it is difficult to achieve something original.
I had two turtles big ones in my bedroom. Kind of smelly if they weren't cleaned for two days or so (weekend at grandmother).
As I put them on the floor they ran underneath the bed and didn't want me to catch them. They could be very scary! Are you tellingbme now they saw me as a snack! 😰
I believe animals who survived the ages are smart. Might be not the intelligence we see as intelligence but it takes a lot to asapt the change of time. Humans aren't that flexible and stress out a lot, too much. We abandoned our instinct and tell us it's better to think (not that that works out for most).
Your drawing has something unique it reminds me of a world where flora and fauna count most and developed. I hope the bridge is a memory of a far past.
Are those bulrushes among the waterside?
🍀♥️
In this herbarium on the river bank there can be any familiar flora, any weed, anything your imagination suggests, somewhere near the river there should be reeds, but I did not plan it :)
Moreover, fantasizing on this topic is absolutely safe for the soul and body, from the good moments, the aroma of honey can be present in fantasies.
If wisdom is closely connected with stench, then... Have you been to a barn with a lot of cows and a pigsty with a thousand pigs?
There, in such a case, is the concentration of wisdom :)
Yes, I have been to barns and I lived in an old farmhouse where the (pig) stables surrounded it though not thousands. Do they exist where you live? Cows with us are getting rare and they are forced to go outside even though they rather stay in because the like it warm and a massage is also something they like. LOL
Are you a poet too @barski?
Yes, in my homeland there are a lot of pig farms and many people in the villages keep pigs.
But, a couple of weeks ago the pig population was greatly reduced due to the African swine fever epidemic and 65K pigs were buried.
Apparently the pigs did not have enough wisdom not to eat what the wild boars did not eat and left behind :)
As for the poet... Have you seen patches on pants that are sewn on clumsily? Well, I am such a tailor! :)
