Love The Clouds Contest! #72 BRUTALISM
I took these pictures one day in town of Split. Clouds really intensified almost forgotten beauty of cold socialist infrastructure. I love how they made this concrete giants look even bigger and stronger.
Love their perfect imperfections and forms they take to disguise the sky and all that is beneath them and how they affect our imagination.
We all see what we want to see and no one can say you are wrong, not when it comes to clouds. 😊
Brutalist architecture, or Brutalism, is an architectural style which emerged and gained popularity in the late 1950s. It is characterized by stark, minimalist constructions that showcase the bare building materials and structural elements over decorative design. Exposed concrete is favoured in construction, however, some examples are primarily made of brick or other materials.
