Hello good friends,
Welcome once again! Thank you, @ashkan, for the interesting and eye-opening topic. It was good to participate here as this has schooled me through silent and deeper issues. Anyway, let's get started with the topic "frozen shoulders..."

What's frozen shoulder? Write in your own words after getting knowledge from the lesson post.

Frozen shoulder is commonly referred to as adhesive capsulitis. A disorder that is caused towards the shoulder joint with varying levels of pain depending on its stage of occurrence. It is usually seen and characterized by the stiffness of the shoulder joint that brings about pain.

This pain varies due to its gradual effect over time when not treated accordingly. It can be caused by different things, and wrong posture or use of this area over time is a major concern. Temporary effects have been observed each time we sleep in the wrong way over the night. However, this fizzles out may be a day or more.

There are other causes, which may be from road or domestic accidents that happen to us, such as osteoarthritis, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, etc. But one thing about this defect is that it does not just happen all once but rather gradually. When we experience a gradual pain while lifting or reaching out, this may be a sign of a frozen shoulder.

However, there are different stages by which frozen shoulders are observed. The freezing stage is a time of the gradual beginning of pains but with a limited range of shoulder use in motion. We have the frozen stage, which comes with limited pains, unlike the freezing stage, but at this time, there is stiffness in using the shoulder properly.

We have the thawing stage which is the last stage. This is the recovery stage, unlike the previous stages gift. There are reduced pains and better improvement in the range of motion of the affected shoulder. In all of these, they come with varying amounts of time in which they occur.

How would you diagnose a frozen shoulder? Any clinical investigation or assessment tests?

Diagnosing frozen shoulders would require that we either use the medical or physical examination methods or a combination of the two to achieve proper tests.

The medical method would, first of all, allow us to know the history of occurrence. Root causes to ascertain the period of pain and solution given.

However, ascertaining the range of motion of the shoulder from different sides would be done to determine the stage of effect. Both active and passive angles of the shoulder should be assessed. This would help determine the pain level at different movements and also when about to stop and eventually at rest.

When this is done, we can also check for tenderness around the shoulder joint. This is another way to quickly determine the affected area and how much damage is made. This is probably an area of inflammation and pain source.

For a guaranteed functional assessment, we have to ascertain the degree of stiffness by allowing movement of the arms overhead and behind the back. This allows us to ascertain the level of range of motion.

Try to practice at least 3 exercises that you have learned from the lesson. Share images, gifs, or videos while practicing.
Wand Shoulder Flexion

This was the first on my list. The essence of the wand shoulder flexion is to gradually help free up stiffness around the shoulder region. The up-and-down movement was to allow for a proper range of motion.

Shoulder Circle

This was an exercise that had more impact on the shoulder-neck region. This twisting of the shoulder region clockwise and anticlockwise definitely would allow proper ease of stiffness. It is a little more intense than the wand shoulder flexion.

Cross-body stretch

This is a solution for targeted arms. Unlike the other that have both shoulders worked on at the same time, this method only allows fixing stiffness and numbness of one shoulder region at a time. In a static position, you use one arm to hold your other elbow and pull it forward and backward in a gradual manner that helps bring relief to the affected arm.

Share your review after performing these exercises either on a healthy individual or patient.

Oh wow, this is purely a homemade remedy for relief. I was able to do that myself and the effect was positive. I got some relief from the exercise. There is so much flexibility and stiffness-free effect from the shoulder region.

For those with nontraumatic or injury-sourced frozen shoulders, this is a daily remedy for you. Not forgetting, sleeping sometimes may get us temporary pains around the region; this is an instant cure to pain.

I will be inviting @chilaw, @m-do, and @rosslena.

Your information about frozen shoulder remedies is very helpful. I plan to try these exercises. Good luck for the contest.

Thank you for understanding the lesson and sharing your assignment; I hope that you will enjoy this week's lesson and try to implement it in your life if you see any such case.

Observations

Task 1 (2.8/3)
I don't know you belong to medical field or not but still you try your best to learn from this lesson and write this participation. You have share a good knowledge about this lesson but still it's phases are missing. I appreciate your effort.

Task 2 (2.5/3)
In the second question, you about the history taking, assessment of ROM and stiffness in shoulder but it would be better if you add the name of tests to make it more specific and relevant. Also you can add the investigations like X ray, CT scan, MRI. Good.

Task 3 (3.8/4)
You try the wand shoulder flexion, shoulder circles and cross body stretch in a better way. I like that you try all the exercises better but it would be better if you perform exercise in a brighter room and a wide angle. Remember always apply heating pad before performing these exercises. I appreciate your efforts.

Overall you made a good attempt to answer all the questions except question 2, a little bit more depth require. Better try next time. I appreciate your efforts. But next time try to avoid the above written suggestions. Keep learning and try to implement your knowledge to the people suffering from any shoulder pathology. Thank you.
