Snail farmings also called heliciculture is the process of raising edibles snails for human consumption and other uses it is a profitable ventures because snails are in high demand for their meat which is rich in protein low in fat and highly nutritious. Many people are unaware that snail farming is simple to start and does not require large land or costly equipment making it a great choice for beginners in agriculture.

To start snail farming the first step is selecting a suitable species. Some popular types for farming include Achatina achatina and Archachatina marginata as they grow fast and reproduce well. The next step is creating a proper environment. Snails thrive in moist shaded areas with good ventilation. A small piece of land or even a backyard can be converted into a snail pen using wooden boxes old tires or concrete tanks. The pen must be covered to protect snails from predators like rats birds or ants.
