SLC23-W5 // "Venezuelan Cuisine"
Hello teacher
I love Venezuelan people and I didn't hesitate to jump into this learning challenge task as soon as I saw the post. I just wanted to have a feeling of what it feels like to eat Venezuelan dish. Thank you for the class so far.
What is new for you from the course, any spice or cooking technique or anything that you want to share? |
---|
The cuisine is great but not so new to me. The only new technique was the fact that the veggies were fried and then water was added to cook with the rice. Usually, the for me when am making a similar dish called the fried rice , the peas and veggies are added last.
Usually I don't use the cumin seed and not really familiar with it but I got familiar with it and started using it since the inception of this class. It's great using it in my dish.
Make the given recipe or any recipe that you like from Venezuela cuisine step by step in detail with pictures. Include your name tag with date in final presentationof recipe |

My delicious Venezuelan cuisine is ready take a look
Is your local cousin has any food that resembles with the shared recipe? |
---|
Yes my local cuisine has food that resembles this and it is our sweet lovely fried rice.o love fried so much and while I was reading through your class I felt you were cooking fried rice seriously.
The only difference between our local fried is that water is not added after everything is fried. After parboiling the rice , the vegetables that are fried are added and mixed well and that's the end. But the final looks are the same for both my local cuisine and this Venezuelan cuisine.
Which flavour or spice do you like from Venezuelan cuisine ? |
---|
Oh I like the grounded garlic. The aroma on the meat is something else. So cool. Aside that, it gives this unique home made taste. I think am beginning to like the garlic spice so much.
I also like the grounded cumin, like I said before am not use to using it in my dishes but I guess now I have no choice than to just love it.
I would like to invite my friends to join this contest. @okere-blessing @eveetim @sahmie
The rice is just the same like Nigerian fried rice, anyone who is good at Nigeria fried rice will certainly cook this. You did a great job as it came out excellently.
Best wishes and thanks for the invitation.
Your step-by-step guide to making Venezuelan cuisine is detailed and easy to follow and the addition of cumin and garlic gives it a unique flavor, me I love how you compared it to your local fried rice dish and the similarities and differences are interesting to note..looking really delicious.
