Okra which also known as lady finger is a crop that take thirteen weeks after planting to be harvested.

It has different species which can be grown, there is a type that can be planted during the Sunny season which is around December to march and the one that can be planted is wet season which is around April to August, those seed planted during the Sunny season only survived when it is planted on the swampy area which which has wet soil and also muddy.
Meanwhile the one planted during the rainy season can withthand any soil since the rain will constantly wet the soil which is good for the plants.

Here is my okra farm of which it is cultivated during the summer since is is planted in a swampy area it has no problem with the summer heat because the soil is wet,
This cultivation usually take place around December while the harvesting os around March.

They harvesting last for just a month and two weeks before the okra die off.

Okra can be used to prepare a very nice delicacies, the above picture is a delicious egg soup made with okra.

Okra can also be cooked on a budget as it is cost effective it does not require so many ingredients to give a very good tastes.

my story

My seasonal okra cultivation had already begun for the year i started working on my farm since December 2024 after clearing and preparing the soil the planting took place January 14 normally it was supposed to take about 5 days to fully germinate but sadly a heavy rain came earlier than usual and destroyed some parts of the farm, this happened because this was a swampy area that was still trying to absorb the water from the previous year rain fall resulting to flooding the area.
