Agriculture has been fundamental to human civilization right from the beginning, serving as the primary livelihood for most of the global population. Its importance is immense and cannot be underestimated. Below are some of the importance of agriculture in modern life.

• Agriculture is the world's primary source of food. It supplies food such as vegetables, proteins, and oil to The global population.

• It alleviates poverty by increasing income and enhancing food security.

• Agriculture enhances soil health, conserves water, and also aids in controlling soil erosion.

• Agriculture is also a major source of employment especially in rural areas. People cultivate their farms to sustain themselves.

• It also influences global trade by importing and exporting agricultural products, connecting different economic sectors, promoting job creation, generating income, and providing raw materials that are essential for survival.

Share your personal Agricultural Experience( might be planting/farming or any Agricultural activity), with photos to back you up.

Farming is one thing that I can't do without, it has become part of me. I have experience in planting many crops like cassava, corn, cucumber, garden egg, pepper, okra, vegetables like pumpkin leaf, garden egg leaf, water leaf, etc.

When it comes to planting corn and cassava, I usually plant corn before cassava because corn takes about 2 to 3 months before harvesting, while cassava is an annual crop, although some species of cassava stem last for 6 months. After clearing the farmland and making the ridges, I will plant my corn which will germinate 6 to 7 days after planting. Once my corn germinates and stays up to 2 to 3 weeks, I will plant my cassava in that same farmland so that before the cassava germinates, the corn has grown to the extent that the cassava won't affect it.

At this stage, I will apply manure if need be depending on the fertility of the soil. Two to three months later, the corn will be ready for harvesting after harvesting, I will cut out the stems of the corn to create more balance for the cassava. One thing with all these crops is that they don't do well in the dry season. Crops like corn, cucumber, okra, and even vegetables. They can only do well in the dry season if the farmer irrigates them.

Another agricultural activity that I have experience in is processing palm oil. We have a palm oil tree plantation, although not too large. Some of the trees are long, while some are short, and I can even cut the fruit without climbing the tree.

After cutting the fruits out from the tree, we leave it for some days so that the fruit can come out of the bunch easily. In my area, we have people who own oil processing mills where people process their palm oil. After picking the fruit out from the bunch, you carry it to the mill, cook it, and pour it inside the first machine that will ground it and from there to another one that will extract the oil.

I am inviting @chiagoziee, @duncan001, and @edu-chemist to participate in this contest.
