Benefits of Medicinal Plants for Health: Personal Experience
Medicinal plants have been a part of human life for centuries. Many people still rely on herbal medicine as the first solution to various health problems before turning to modern medicine. I myself have experience using several medicinal plants that have proven effective in relieving minor illnesses.
🌿 Medicinal Plants I Use
A medicinal plant I frequently use is ginger. Ginger is well known for its use in combating aggravated digestive problems relieving nausea and warms up body. I mainly drink it as a tea, when I have a cold or with GI illnesses. And betel leaves ~ the staple of health care as well. They contain antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties that I usually prefer as a rinse for toothaches or sore throats instead of OTC products.
I use turmeric, for respiratory problems coughs and flu because it is famous for its anti-inflammatory, antiviral feature. General combination is turmeric and honey with warm water to cure a sore throat &heal faster.
🌿 Efficiency of Medicinal Plants
After using these plants, I felt quite significant benefits. Ginger tea helped me feel warmer and more comfortable when experiencing digestive problems. Gargling with boiled betel leaf water is effective in reducing pain in the gums due to infection. Likewise with turmeric, which helped me recover faster from the flu.
Although the results are not as instant as modern medicine, the use of medicinal plants provides more natural benefits and minimal side effects.
🌿 Medicinal Plants or Doctors?
I personally prefer to try medicinal plants first for minor illnesses. If the symptoms do not improve or even get worse, I will go to the doctor immediately. I believe that a combination of natural and medical treatments can be the best solution for health.

A super common recipe I like to make is ginger turmeric tea. How to:
Ingredients:
1 piece of ginger, crushed
1 piece of turmeric, grated
1 tbsp honey
300 ml hot water
How to make:
Strain the boiled water, then add honey.
. Drink while warm.

Ginger is a good medicinal plant it really helps in different ways, mostly in cold weather and internal cold even coughs.
