Four popular winter crops in my village
In the winter season, the village of thrives with the cultivation of four key crops: paddy, sweet pumpkin, onion, and cabbage. These crops depend on for both economic and food security and can be a source of variety in the diet for the people. Rice, a staple in several countries, is cultivated; sweet pumpkin comes in as the sweet version of available crops. For cooking, of course, onions are grown, and as a source of vitamins cabbages as well. This paper reviews information about winter crops, production, and effects on the economy of these foods and their importance in the farming system in the village.
Sweet pumpkins generally grow well in fertile land. The land has to be cultivated well before planting. Such land has to be selected for sweet pumpkin cultivation where the sunlight is direct. Sweet pumpkin cultivation is not good in shaded areas. After 90 to 120 days of planting, it is time to collect the sweet pumpkin from the room. The soil of our village field is quite fertile, almost every farmer in our area cultivates sweet pumpkin.
Sweet pumpkin contains vitamin A and vitamin C. It is very low in calories. Sweet pumpkin helps in digestion. Also, the role of sweet pumpkin in curing diseases is immense.
Onion crops are cultivated in fertile land. Compared to other crops, onions need to be cultivated with great care. Compared to other crops, this crop needs to be planted with more cultivation in the land. Small onions are directly cultivated in the field and chemical fertilizers and CS are given to this crop at the right time. This crop is suitable for harvesting 90 to 120 days after planting.
Onion is a spice crop. This ingredient works to bring flavor to the dishes. There are also properties of onions. Onions are low in calories and rich in nutrients. Onions contain vitamin D and potassium. Zahid Rag also helps in sleeping. This crop is also a popular crop in our area. The crop meets the needs of the family and farmers benefit economically by selling it in the market.
Cabbage is one of the winter crops. Almost every farmer in the village cultivates cabbage. Cabbage is more productive in fertile land. Cabbage can be harvested within 60 to 90 days.
Cabbage contains a lot of vitamin C and vitamin K. Poems contain some elements that keep the body's cells fresh. Cabbage contains a lot of fiber that is useful in the body's digestive power.
Cabbage meets the family vegetable needs of the farmers in our village and by marketing them in the market, the farmers become economically self-sufficient.
Rice is the staple food of most people in Bangladesh. 100% of the people depend on rice for their livelihood. Among the crops in Bangladesh, rice is the main crop. Rice cultivation requires fertile soil. Since the soil in our village is more fertile, rice cultivation is very good here. The farmers of our village are quite interested in rice cultivation. Many types of rice are cultivated at different times of the year. Today I have shown you a winter rice cultivation. A very good yield can be obtained by preparing the land for rice cultivation, spreading it and taking good care of the rice.
Various types of food can be made with rice, such as rice muri chira etc. Even by making flour from rice, the farmers of the village celebrate the pitha festival by making different types of pithapuli.
