Nature & Agriculture Contest : Planting

Hello and cordial everyone here, regarding to all my fellow steemians who involves in farming and planting activities around the world, how are you doing today I know it has been long I post in this community due to some issues that held me back but thank I am opportune to participate in this amazing contest tilted; Planting organized here in #Nature-&Agriculture which I will be delighted and glad to share my views and perspectives with you guys as well as bringing out creativity when it comes to amazing contest like this.

So before I proceed to the contest topics and questions I will like share with you some brief definition of planting as stated in the contest theme, planting can define as the process of digging and putting a seed or steem in the ground in other to germinate and grow for a purpose.

Are you a farmer?

Of course yes, I'm a complete farmer for that matter who involve in cultivation of different crops and rearing of animals as well, but for the sake of this contest I will focus on the planting and cultivation aspect of farming that's say I will be sharing with you all the cultivation and side of farming in me.


Does your family and area have different types of plants or cultivable land?.

There are many varieties and different crops produce by Farmer around the world which my area is not left behind what am trying to say is that there are different types of plants and cultivable land around my neighborhood which helps people to produce their choice of crop in as much the land is fertile they is always good crops to cultivates because the people in my area have enough passion for farming and producing different food and cash crops that generates food and income to our society today.


What type of crop is grown the most in your area and what is its planting method?

There are many crops that grown around my area but I think the most common among the crops grown in my area is cassava with a botanical name (Manihot esculenta Crantz) which is cultivated throughout the tropical world for its tuberous roots but mostly in Africa which is commonly used for the production of garri in my area, cassava also have many other benefits and uses apart from garri such as edible starch, akpu, cassava flour, and tapioca and production of various food items such as noodles, bread as well as many others I didn't list out here.


How good do you think the soil fertility is in your area?

I think the soil fertility in my area is so much okay and good because we always have a good harvest every year due to the fertile soil and good climate conditions here, without saying much you clearly see the pictures of the cassava I harvested from our farm how good it looks all because of the fertile soil in area that's enough reason to prove to you that the soil fertility is very good in my area.


Finally, please share with us what types of vegetables and crops are grown in your area during winter.

Winter also known as dry season usually takes place in my areas from October to March also in this season some farmers in my area who cultivates some crops and fruits such as cabbage, carrot, tomatoes, beans/cowpea, various herbs and other winter crops go ahead to plant their crops during the winter period.
