Why do you fear? Do you still have no faith?
Mark 4:35-41
On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, “Let us go across to the other side.” And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” And they were filled with great fear and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”
The Lord invites us through this reading not to fear even though we are going through moments of difficulty or crisis we must trust in his power. Because our life is like that boat being hit by waves of problems, which at times is drowned in excesses that plunge us into a sea of worries. But the Lord is sitting there in the stern of our boat accompanying us despite the fact that in moments we can feel, that he is asleep and we are afraid and incredulous like the disciples, He rises and calms our storm, because there is no storm that the Power and the infinite love of God cannot overcome, The Lord as the disciples asks us today, (Why do you fear? Do you still have no faith?), And he tells us:
(-Trust my power because I have prepared the course of your boat-).
Because it is he who guides our lives.
Many times we want to do things our way and we do not realize that it is God in his time who does his will. Let us trust, believe and hope because God will never let us down.
Friends, let's not be afraid, because no matter how difficult the problem is or how serious the situation we are going through, whether it is due to this pandemic or another crisis, we must trust because there is no disease or crisis that is greater than the power of God, He is the only one who can change this situation, and He is the only one who can calm our storm.
Blessings for all.
