There is always a piece of me that I keep inside. Not for any other reason other than showing too much of yourself leaves you vulnerable in ways that you can never recoup.

However, I am not dishonest with myself. I just choose to not let it all hang out. I think you can be open and honest without putting it all out there. And to be clear, that is not a bad thing either. I think circumstances dictate.
