RE: USE OUR BETA | beta.steempeak.com

Thanks for tagging me @gadrian

SteemPeak.com switched away from $ at a time when the amount was clearly not related to USD. You could easily see that the amount wasn't the same as the USD. So it was a bold faced lie to put a $ next to it.

If the system can consistently represent the USD I will push for it to go back to $. I know it's more user friendly to show a $ because they understand that. But if it's not the truth then it's easy but deceptive (a lie) and we don't want that even more.

Maybe the math has changed and now it's always accurately showing USD. Or someone has the best math possible that will always be accurate... let us know.

Hearts... we switched because we did not believe how steemit was doing it at least back then was intuitive. Now that they have a down arrow next to the up it actually makes it much more intuitive on their end. (they didn't use to have that)
Back then we were switching to something else because steemit's example was not inutitive. And we knew hearts was a recognizeable action. I'm actually willing to go back to up and down arrow now... but a better up and down arrow that fits our design style. Specially because we will eventually have a steempeak non-blockchain interaction ability that will apply to guests.

Thanks for taking in the feedback and responding.

Yes, good point about the USD value. I think on the Steemit interface it is accurate because it takes the 7-day average price of STEEM, if I am not mistaken. So it's pretty much always giving a more or less accurate USD amount.

This has NOT been the case historically... maybe it's accurate right now because of today's value of SBD. I'm not actually sure when it's accurate and when it's not. If someone can prove a method of it always being accurate then I'll work to switch it back to using this symbol $.
