Steemit Greetings from my motherland #Nigeria, How are you all? I hope you're having a wonderful day! I wish you all good health, happiness, and a prosperous future. Today, I'd like to share with you a glimpse of another classic African meal that I prepared last Sunday, 16th March, 2025. I hope this article captures your interest and allows you to feel the joy of reading. You can also share your thoughts and support if you find it worthwhile.

It was a buzy Sunday morning, and I woke up craving something comforting and familiar. As I lay in bed, I couldn't shake off the thought of boiled cassava and native sauce, a classic African dish that my mother used to make for me when I was a child.

I finally got out of bed, feeling motivated to recreate this childhood favourite. I headed to the kitchen, where l began by peeling and washing some large cassava tubers. I placed them in a large pot, added enough water to cover them, and put the pot on the stove.

As the cassava boiled, I started preparing the native sauce. I blended a mixture of onions, peppers, tomatoes, and a hint of ginger, then heated some palm oil in a pan. I added the blended mixture and the chopped scent leaf to the oil and stirred well, allowing the flavours to meld together.

After about 30 minutes, the cassava was cooked through and tender. I drained the water and sliced the cassava into thick rounds. I served the boiled cassava with the native sauce spooned generously in different plates.

I took my first bite, and the flavours transported me back to my childhood. The boiled cassava was perfectly cooked, and the native sauce added a rich, slightly spicy flavour. I savoured each bite, feeling grateful for the simple pleasures in life. As I ate with my family, I thought about my mother and the many Sundays we spent together, enjoying boiled cassava and native sauce.

It was a tradition that I cherished deeply, and one that I hoped to pass on to my own family one day. With my hunger finally satisfied, I leaned back in my chair, feeling content and at peace. It had been a truly enjoyable Sunday, and one that I would always treasure.

Thank you for going through my post. Do have a great time ahead.
