Tourists are strictly forbidden from purchasing items from street vendors, as doing so could result in a 750 euro fine.
The specific problems encountered involve vandalism such as graffiti, posters, and postcards, along with gambling and betting in public areas, panhandling, solicitation, unpermitted artistic performances, unlicensed guided tours, littering, public alcohol consumption, congregating on balconies, and reckless scooter riding.
These new regulations are a response to recent protests on the island, fueled by concerns over excessive tourism and complaints regarding the conduct of visitors.
