Good afternoon friends in the @steem-Travelers community, which I am proud of, greetings from me a newcomer and on this happy afternoon I will present my first post in this community.

This afternoon I will share a little of my experience when visiting one of the sub-district capitals in the Biruen district, namely Samalanga, Samalanga has a lot of history when Indonesia sought independence from invaders and many heroes came from the Samalanga area.

The city of Samalanga is located on the coast of the Malacca Strait, in the west it is directly adjacent to the Pidi Jaya Regency and to the north it is bordered by Central Aceh Regency. The east is bordered by the sub-district of its sekabupaten namely Jeunib and to the south it is directly adjacent to the Malacca Strait, the professions of the Samalanga community are selling, farming, teachers - guru dayah, there are also fishermen and government employees.

The Samalanga market is still traditional just like other markets in Aceh as well as Indonesia in general, there are no special gifts or souvenirs that we can get in Samalanga, mostly there are shops for books and equipment for students and students compared to traditional markets which is next door to Samalanga, which is only a few shops for books and equipment for students .

Now Samalanga is better known as the city of santri because there are many Islamic boarding schools scattered in the area, both integrated boarding schools and Salafi boarding schools, the famous pesantren in Samalanga are the Salafi pesantren, namely the Ma'hadal Ulum diniyah Islamic Boarding School (MUDI) which means a place for students and female students to study. the basis of the Islamic religion.

We will not encounter the city of Samalanga if we only cross the country road or the cross-road - Banda Aceh because this city is approximately 1 kilometer to the south of the Medan - Banda Aceh crossing and there are no gates or other special things at the intersection to enter the city of Samalanga. only directions for traffic signs that lie on the side of the road.

When you arrive in the city of Samalanga and head towards the southwest for about 2 kilometers, you will find a tourist location that is visited by many local tourists and the tour is on the outskirts of the crossroads - Banda Aceh, people often call it by the name of bate iliek, although bate iliek is already in the hands of the government of pidie jaya district but bate iliek is always linked with samalanga, at bate iliek there are several kinds of local culinary and refreshing drinks when the body feels tired on the way and the most famous here is the typical rujak bate iliek, in bate Iliek is also very suitable if you just take a short break when tiredness hits during a long trip.
