Golden Hour Photography Challenge - Week 83 | "📷Capture, Click, Compete!📷" - December sunset

Hi everybody!

I took this photo on December 25, 2024 and was wondering which contest to submit it to, as it is suitable for both the Golden Hour and the Architectural Photography contest. But the choice fell on the golden hour contest. December 25th was a very beautiful sunset and I had long wanted to photograph this column, reminiscent of an ancient structure. That's how this photo was born.

But perhaps a few words should be said about the column. In fact, it has nothing to do with antiquity. It is simply a ventilation vent of the sewerage system of a weaving and spinning factory that existed in our city in the 19th and 20th centuries. The factory has not been operating for several decades, but the column is still there. Local historians say that there used to be three of them, but only one has survived to this day, the one shown in the photo. In three years, this column will be 200 years old!
