Exploring Dettifoss – SteemAtlas Adventure #4
Dettifoss, in Northeastern Iceland, as far as I know is the biggest or one of the top three biggest waterfalls in Europe.
One landmark, that definitely demonstrates the power of Nature and divinity of our Universe.
One place, where The Time is not only those seconds, minutes, hours, days, etc. but a place where the concept of Time could be clearly understood.
From the perspective of the Universe, we are here, on our planet, only for a blink.
Presently, I think that my humble mission and purpose in this world is to show and "freeze" in time Its beauties. But hey, who knows for sure...
You are not impressed yet by this gem in the crown of Mother Nature?
Check out in my photographs below the small dots that are close to the top left-hand side of the edge of the waterfall. These dots are people, actually! Wow, indeed!
One of the things the impressed me the most was the permanent "earthquake" caused by those millions of tons of water falling down from that altitude. I can not describe this properly, sorry for this, but this feeling really humbled me.
Strangely thought, it also made me very relaxed and calm. Yes, there were certain moments of feeling insecure but to feel secure in this world is not healthy at all, in my humble opinion :)
It was worth it carrying my heavy (more than three kilograms) tripod with me, as all of those pictures I am sharing today, are actually long exposure photos.
This was my way to visually underline the concept of Time.
Here is another, elevated view of that huge, gigantic waterfall, and more tiny silhouettes of people could be observed at the left-hand side of the picture.
Just for scale, as some say.
More scaling...
Did you see the tiny people-dots just above? ;)
I found out that the water-drop-height is about 45 meters, wow!!!
Time...
