Nusaiba’s Cold and Itching Problem.
Hello dear friends,
I hope you all are doing well and spending a beautiful life with your loved ones. I wish you all happiness and peace.
Parents who have children know how challenging it is to take care of them. My one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Nusaiba, comes alive whenever she sees water. Bath time is her favorite! The moment she sees water, she wants to play—splashing, laughing, and enjoying every second. But behind this fun, there’s a problem: too much water exposure often makes her catch a cold.
A few days ago, I noticed small blisters on her body. At first, I didn’t take it seriously, thinking it was just heat rash. But later, small blisters appeared on her fingers, and the itching got so bad that Nusaiba became restless. Seeing her in pain broke my heart. I realized there was no option but to see a doctor.
Last week, we went to Victoria Government General Hospital. We reached there around 10 a.m., but there was a long queue for tickets. Standing in line with a small child was really tough, but we waited patiently and got the ticket. The counter staff saw Nusaiba’s hand and told us to go to Room 104.
There, we found another long queue. After waiting for a while, the doctor checked her and referred us to Room 205. The same situation again! That’s when I realized how common skin and allergy-related problems have become, maybe because of weather changes and allergies. After nearly two hours, we finally got to speak with the doctor.
The doctor prescribed two syrups for her cold and itching and two creams for the affected areas. The medicines were:
Cefixime (Antibiotic) – For 10 days
Histacin Syrup (Antihistamine) – To reduce itching
Topicort Cream – To control inflammation
Trego Ointment – To prevent infection
We’ve been using these medicines for a week now. The cold has improved a lot, but the blisters on her fingers are still there. The doctor said it would take time, so we have to be patient.
Lessons for Parents:
Be careful with water: Kids love water, but too much can cause colds. Limit water play when needed.
Don’t ignore skin issues: Small rashes can turn into big problems if neglected.
Hospital reality: Government hospitals provide good treatment, but you need patience for the long queues.
Prevent allergies: Any skin change in a child should be addressed quickly.
As parents, it’s our responsibility to take care of our children. Their pain becomes our pain. So timely treatment, proper care, and following the doctor’s advice are essential.
If your child faces a similar issue, don’t delay—consult a doctor right away. Nothing compares to the joy of seeing your little one smile in good health.
Thanks all
