I Didn’t Do My Best: I Scored Low of 951 in Today’s Game of Steem Pong
I have just completed another thrilling game of Steem Pong, which is one of my favorite online games developed based on the blockchain. It was an exciting and entertaining experience, and I must admit that I did not give my best this time. My overall result was 951 points, which was not the highest ever for me, but it proved to be a lesson to me to be more patient, focused, and self-improving.
The first thing I purchased before starting to play was a token through my Active Key, and it cost me 2 Steem. That small purchase made me realize that I was actually investing in my entertainment and development. It is no longer a game, but seemed a serious competition, which linked work with something good. Whenever I used a Steem token, I was reminded that I was one of those who valued commitment. When you spend money on something, then you would obviously expect to make it count.
I was very excited and energetic as we started the game. Its design was so plain and the motion of the paddle was so smooth that anyone could play it and enjoy. The aim was to ensure the ball bounces without missing and only to score as much as possible. Things seem simple initially, when the ball picks up speed you soon learn the extent to which you require focus and timing. I held my eyes fixed on the screen, and attempted to guess the next direction of the ball. I had good performances on certain occasions and some occasions I had a close miss. And those small errors were costly to me.
I laughed when my final score appeared, 951 points. It was lower than I expected. I had had deep inside my heart that I could have done better had I remained more focused. However, rather than be upset, I decided to regard it as an experience. Games such as Steem Pong do not only exist to have fun, it also has some lessons about life. I understood that it does not happen in a single hit but in consistency, patience and learning how to correct the mistakes.
The game of Steem Pong had a lot to remind me of life. You are playing well, and you hit a wrong ball, or some other time, you missed your timing. That is only like the ups and downs in life. You may not be able to control all things but you can always learn, adapt and repeat. It is the same reason I did not give up because I lost a round and that is why we should not give up in real life. Each wrong is an opportunity to become even stronger.
It is one of the beautiful aspects of the game because the game makes you feel a sense of accomplishment regardless of the score. My grades were also the cause of pride since I have achieved them out of concentration and hard work. Every swing of the ball was a beat of a heart of determination. I never felt disappointed even in case I lost as I had fun and learnt something new.
The other thing I uniquely enjoy about Steem Pong is the fact that it links amusement and blockchain compensation. It is more enjoyable because it is a concept of earning money by spending Steem tokens to play, which is a combination of investment and playing games. It inspires me to work towards bettering myself since the more I am getting better to be, the more I believe that my tokens are being spent on something worthwhile.
When I completed the round and the message displayed that it was Game Over, I smiled, and I said to myself, the next time I would do better. I am already anticipating my next game since I would like to score better and challenge myself to the next level. There is a new trick or a more effective paddle control every time I play. I am already able to feel myself getting better and that is what makes it exciting.
Ultimately, despite the fact that I did not get the highest possible score, it was a worthwhile process that was justified by all of the time and Steem tokens spent. The lesson Steem Pong imparted in me is that just like the game, life is all about finding balance and becoming focused and never giving up. You can lose today, but it does not imply that you have failed, it just implies that you have learned to play better tomorrow.
I am not even going to board an airplane next time without scoring high because I will be playing to achieve a positive score that will remind me that I can always improve. I did not do my best today, but I will definitely come back to the game stronger, more concentrated, and willing to make a new record in Steem Pong.
