Good day steemians!

Saturday is family day. Its the only day where I can spend my whole day with my daughter. After washing the clothes, I see to it that its cuddling time with Matheena. We sometimes had our date inside the room or we will go out and buy some groceries then eat out or give her the chance to play at the playground. Inside the room, aside from cuddling and hugging each other, we sometimes had movie time while eating our favorite food which she loves doing. But we will watch her favorite show in youtube because she find it boring when I will watch some teleseryes😜😃 Sometimes, we will practice her art skills, or I will let her read filipino and english words. And sometimes I will let her practice her mathematical skills.

But last saturday is a sad day. As a teacher, our time is not ours. We were asked to go for a seminar from 8 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon. So, I had to tell my anak ahead of time and will let her understand. Good thing she is so understanding.

✨ALL ABOUT THE SEMINAR✨

We were asked to go to Canduman Elementary School where we will have our seminar venue. Since our call time is 7am so I had to wake up early. I woke up at 4:30 because it is a bit far and so I can prepare Matheenas needs since I will leave her to her tita, and I prepare as well our breakfast. And since I am not familiar with the place, I decided not to bring a car and just go with my colleague. We went there around 6 in the morning.

When we arrive the venue, we then had our registration at the gate part. Its my first time to go to their school and I am amazed how organized their school but it is a bit small especially the stairs which is intended only for elementary students.

Our speaker came from manila and they introduced to us Khan Academy. Khan Academy is not a school but a platform wherein the kids are really the doer and the teachers serves as facilitators only. The platform is good provided that the kids will have 1 is to 1 gadget and have a strong wifi. But we still tried to embrace it and utilize our computer room. We had 80 sections from Grade 7 to Grade 10 so each students can have a Khan Class once a week.

In the middle of our seminar, we were visited by the Director of Education and also gave his words of wisdom. And I can see how smart he is in giving his speech. He really deserves his position.

We had 2 free snacks, 1 in the morning and the other one in the afternoon. We also had 1 pack of lunch meal for free.

The seminar is good as well as the speaker but our venue is not. The room they provided us cannot accomodate us all participants. Even there is a 3 air conditions, we can still feel hot inside.

But to sum up, we had lots of learnings and I am praying that next week we can launch the said platform to our students.
