The Koreans' plan to conquer space.

The South Koreans have a new challenge, as reported on July 17 by the Korean Times, citing a long-term exploration roadmap presented by the Korean Aerospace Administration, the Kasa, South Korea wants to build a lunar base in the year 2045, that is its goal, a base on the Moon. Additionally, the proposed roadmap outlines five major missions, including low-Earth orbit exploration.

The previous point is fundamental because the profitable part of the conquest of space is precisely low Earth orbit, it is where the vast majority of space satellites and space constellations are located, therefore, it is a strategic place.

The other key objective is microgravity, it is also important when it comes to obtaining certain substances, medications and elements that can only be obtained in a chemistry that is in microgravity, something that cannot be achieved on Earth because we have gravity, we cannot eliminate it.

And the other points, well, lunar exploration missions and solar and space scientific missions beyond the Moon, part of that work is already underway. For example, the Korea Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources recently deployed prototype lunar rovers in an abandoned coal mine, not so much for exploration, but for use as space miners.

They were studying not only their ability to move through a mine, remember that on the Moon there are many caves as a result of volcanic activity in the past and they would be ideal places to establish a base, and apart from lunar mining that is going to be fundamental in the future and that is why these robots are focused in that direction.

South Korea already has some experience on the moon, in August 2022, the country launched its first Korean Lunar Probe called Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter or Danuri. That he did it aboard a Falcon
