There is an idea being floated with the space station, if it is pushed into a higher orbit; There are a series of scientists and former NASA experts and other NASA officials who defend that, the ship that SpaceX is designing is used to push the international space station, a powerful ship is actually a dragon ship, but on steroids, with more power, with more fuel and can push it.

Pushing it up, to a higher orbit, that was proposed by some experts and leaving it there as if sealed, as a kind of space museum for the future or possible use in the future for other things because the facility is already aging and there are problems, and there are failures and it has its limit, that was what they proposed, but I don't know how to finish the matter once the ship is built, it can be used for both functions or pushed to a higher orbit or dropped.

And turning it into an attractor for space debris, as others propose, is not possible, it would not work because the accumulation of garbage is actually located right where it is now at about 400 km high, most of the space debris is in low Earth orbit, the further you get from the Earth, the less garbage there is and by raising the space station to a higher orbit you are also moving it away from the garbage.

A decision would have to be made, because here we are talking about the participation of the United States but the international space station there are more nations here there are more people who have to decide how to manage the issues that occur on the space station, it is not an exclusive property of NASA, I will take it to a higher orbit in my opinion, because there was also another researcher out there who said that perhaps it was dangerous due to the issue of the bacteria that has mutated on the international space station, bacteria and other microorganisms.

Over time, the space station has accumulated a small ecosystem of bacteria and many of them have mutated and some have turned out to be quite resistant, for example, to antibiotics, which could be curious and finally they also proposed using the station as a reception point for samples arriving from Mars, for virgin samples arriving from Mars, precisely because of the danger that perhaps some remains of Martian life may exist in some of them.
