I like your speculation about what would have happened if the prince had been sentenced to death. This would have had very tragic consequences. As a result, the princess would have either gone into a prolonged grief and gone mad, or would have taken her own life as she had warned. And on the other hand, the king of the neighboring kingdom, even though it is a small country, would have fought a war with Dreamland and many innocent soldiers and some princes of Dreamland would have died in this war.
