En el año 1919, cuando solo tenía 35 años, queda viuda, y debe hacerse cargo de sus cuatro hijos y de su madre. La familia se sumió en la ruina. No tenían dinero ni siquiera para alimentarse. Eso hizo que cambiara la técnica de pintar con óleo para pintar con carboncillo y lápiz.

En el año 1924 viajó a París para realizar un mural decorativo. Luego de culminar el encargo no pudo regresar a la Unión Soviética, donde estaba su familia. Entre los años 1926 y 1928 pudo llevarse a sus dos hijos menores a París. Pero no pudo hacer lo mismo con los dos mayores ni con su madre.

En 1947 Serebriakova se hizo ciudadana francesa, y fue en 1960, después de 36 años de forzada separación, cuando se le permitió a su hija mayor: Tatiana, visitarla. Para ese momento, Tatiana también estaba dedicada a la pintura.

Serebriakova falleció el 19 de septiembre de 1967, a los 82 años, en París (Francia).

This distinguished artist was born on December 10, 1884 in the former Russian Empire. Today, Ukraine. He belonged to a family of artists. She was a student of Ilya Repin. He belonged to the impressionist movement. He stood out within the portrait genre. In his works he addressed topics related to Russian agricultural tasks.

In 1919, when she was only 35 years old, she was widowed and had to take care of her four children and her mother. The family fell into ruin. They didn't even have money to feed themselves. That made me change the technique from painting with oil to painting with charcoal and pencil.

In 1924 he traveled to Paris to make a decorative mural. After completing the assignment, he could not return to the Soviet Union, where his family was. Between 1926 and 1928 he was able to take his two youngest children to Paris. But he couldn't do the same with the two eldest or with his mother.

In 1947 Serebriakova became a French citizen, and it was in 1960, after 36 years of forced separation, that her eldest daughter, Tatiana, was allowed to visit her. At that time, Tatiana was also dedicated to painting.
