En esta edición 138 de Arte y Escritura les traemos como invitado al simbolista finlandés Knut Magnus Enckell:

Este distinguido artista plástico nació el 9 de noviembre de 1870 en Hamina (Finlandia). Comenzó sus estudios de pintura en la Academia de Arte de Helsinky, entre los años 1889 y 1891. En esta Academia se formaban pintores naturalistas. Magnus mostró su desapego hacia este movimiento pictórico; razón por la cual viajó a París para estudiar en la Académie Julian. Allí se identificó con el movimiento simbolista, que caracterizó a la mayoría de sus obras.

Se declaró homosexual, y realizó obras pictóricas con muchos desnudos masculinos.

Falleció cuando tenía 55 años en Estocolmo, mientras organizaba una exposición pictórica allá.

Para esta edición, hemos seleccionado las siguientes obras para que usted escoja la que más le guste para escribir en torno a ella. La primera se titula Melancolía(1895), la segunda, El concierto, (1898) y la tercera El paseo de la muerte (1896).

In this 138th edition of Art and Writing we bring you as a guest the Finnish symbolist Knut Magnus Enckell:

This distinguished artist was born on November 9, 1870, in Hamina, Finland. He began his painting studies at the Helsinki Academy of Art between 1889 and 1891. This academy trained naturalist painters. Magnus expressed his aloofness toward this painting movement, which is why he traveled to Paris to study at the Académie Julian. There, he identified with the Symbolist movement, which characterized most of his works.

He declared himself homosexual and created paintings with many male nudes.

He died at the age of 55 in Stockholm, while organizing a painting exhibition there.

For this edition, we have selected the following works so that you can choose the one you like best and write about it. The first is titled Melancholy(1895), the second, The Concert, (1898) and the third The Walk of Death (1896).
