Homework Summary [Beginner's Course] - Crypto Academy / s5w3 - Understanding Trends II.
Hello Steemians, We have come to the end of Week 3 Season 5 of the Steemit Crypto Academy. The week ran from 00:00 UTC 28th November 2021 to 11:59 UTC 4th December 2021. The week was successful and I wish to thank every who participated in the lesson and also the homework task.
In this week's lesson, we continued to expand our knowledge of trends in the crypto market. We focused on trend reversals and also how they can be identified by traders. Just like it was stated in the lesson, detecting trend reversals early in the market is very essential for traders to take advantage of the market opportunities and also save traders from entering the market during the end of trends. Also, understanding trend reversals save you from unnecessary losses and gives you an early signal to exit take profits in the market before the reversal happens.
There are so many ways to identify trend reversals in the market but we focused on the most common chart patterns to detect trend reversals. These includes:
- Break of Market Structure
- Break of Trendlines
- Divergences
- Double Top and Double Bottom.
These patterns were explained in detail to the understanding of students and also a clear chart analysis of trend reversals using these patterns was explained. At the end of the lesson, we tested the understanding of the participants by giving them a homework task. The homework task aims at the following.
- To understand trend reversals.
- To understand different techniques to spot trend reversals and also how to spot them on the chart.
- To execute a trading position using any trend reversal techniques.
- To identify fake trend reversals patterns on the chart.
At the end of the week, we had 98 entries. The task distribution is as follows:
- 86 Valid Entries
- 12 Invalid Entries
- 3 Plagiarised / Spun Contents.
This can be further shown in the bar chart below:

The chart shows the overall performance of the participants in the homework task. The performance of the participants wasn't good this week as some of them are still struggling to improve their chart analysis and also identify these trend reversal patterns. 24% of the participants scored above grade 9 while 46% scored between grade 6 and 8.9. Furthermore, 10% scored an average score of 5 while 5% scored below average. Users who scored below average resulted from poor chart analysis and inability to understand how to detect trend reversal signals before performing the homework task.
The chart below shows the grade dispersion from the homework task with an average grade of 7.4.

Recommendation and Feedback from Homework Task
- The quality of homework tasks submitted is greatly improving as the participants are growing their experience in technical and chart analysis. This is the aim of the beginner's course and I'm glad about the results so far.
- We had an average score of 7.4 which is above average. Understandably, this is a beginners course and the majority of the participants are still struggling with chart analysis. We try to make the season as simple as possible. I urge the participants to spend quality time understanding the lesson before they answer the questions.
- Writing skills and presentation is still a problem for some users. We encourage everyone to keep working on their writing skills and also use markdown styles to have a good presentation.
- Some users violated the homework guidelines by using charts of forex and the stock market. This is a crypto academy and every study in the academy must be related to the crypto market.
- Plagiarism has been a major issue in the academy as the team are keen to keep fighting the act. We had three cases of plagiarism from users who directly copied the same work from a user. We encourage every to produce quality and original content.
- 12 homework tasks were disqualified in this weeks homework task. Please always visit @steemitblog for updates on eligibility requirements to participate in the homework task. This will save you time used in writing homework task that will end up being disqualified.
I wish to thank everyone once again for their participation. We will keep advancing our knowledge in the crypto ecosystem. Keep working and producing original and quality contents.
Best regards,

@reminiscence01 thanks so much for the lesson, am really still struggling to learn the market trends. My score was 4.5/10 does it mean I will not have any reward?
Only grades from 5 and above gets reward.
Thanks Professor, I will try my best in the future too
