The word I choose to propose is as follows: ENCOVERY (action of committing the deed).

The term cover-up is used a lot in legal and/or criminal contexts. It implies the action of hiding or keeping secret the truth or information that could be compromising or damaging to someone, especially when a crime has been committed. Although it does not necessarily apply to the criminal world, because for example: you can also cover up someone who is being unfaithful, or someone who omitted some important action.
