If your family stick with you through thick and thin, there's no problem, but understanding and respect. If that's the case, I would speak out because I know they stick with me, even if they have no clue what I'm talking about, so your conclusion doesn't make sense to me.

Since the family I had in a long time ago never I have never related to the problem you describe since it doesn't exist.

They are there for you or not, and that's it . I doubt friends, real friends, will always be happy with what you say or do or can relate to what you are talking about.
