RE: Typical Pakistani Beggar Mentality
The second post I have read from your blog so far. I must agree that I have finally met another person who matches my wit and communication style.
I'm sure you know you write so well and articulate your thought in a unique way.
I just mentally added you to my list of favourite Steemian authors.
Back to your post.
I believe every human has a cognitive bias. This is often fuelled by what we see and hear. When these stereotypes are formed, it takes a lot of self-introspection to shake them off.
I understand that you were offended by the statement. I had similar concern after reading a comment somewhere about a certain demographic group. Even though the comment was constructively presented, its implied meaning was glaring.
That event was probably caused by a surge of emotion and after reading the comments, I understand that it wasn't made from a place of hate.
I admire it that you are righting those wrongs in your own way. Where others exhibit unethical behaviours, you choose integrity.
I believe these actions would continue to speak for you when the need arises.
By reading this, I am reminded of the need to identify my biases. These things are there to help us but sometimes they can mar us.
