The middle class is disappearing, meat, vegetables, fruits is getting expensive even if you cook at home. Same for a simple bread. Everything you mentioned is luxury food to me but if indeed way cheaper at home than in a restaurant.
I mainly eat if I work and at work which is bread if lucky some fruits. At home I only drink water unless mom makes tea.

But at the food shop, we get all these at a reasonable price and in good quality and if we try it at home, we can add more spices of our choice to the food for our own taste, which doubles the taste of the food.
