Instant Noodles Mixed with Rice, Full or Risk?
Good afternoon to all steemian friends wherever you are, how are you today? Hopefully all are still in good health and always under the protection of Allah SWT so that they can carry out all activities well.
Instant noodles are a type of noodle that has been steamed, fried, and dried first, so that it can then be served immediately by adding hot water and the spices already in the package. Instant noodle dough generally consists of a mixture of wheat flour, water, cooking oil and salt. Instant noodles have become a favorite snack that is very popular with some people in Indonesia. Because the presentation is so practical and the price is very affordable for all groups. Compared to other food products, instant noodles generally have an economical price, so they can be enjoyed at any time. The popular taste and easy access to this product make it difficult for people to give up instant noodles.
Eating instant noodles with rice has become a habit for many people, including me personally. For many people, the combination of instant noodles and rice is more filling and perfect for lunch or dinner. However, there is an opinion that mixing instant noodles with rice can have a bad impact on health. In fact, there is research which states that the negative effects of instant noodles can be reduced when consumed with protein. In a study published in the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology, it was stated that the substance Benzoquinone (TBBQ) in instant noodles can break down when consumed with protein foods. This research makes many people believe that eating instant noodles with rice is better than eating instant noodles alone.
However, the truth of this research cannot be confirmed because instant noodles contain a high sodium chloride (NaCl) content. If consumed too often, it can increase the risk of hypertension and kidney problems. Adding rice can indeed reduce NaCl levels per serving, but it still doesn't add a more balanced nutritional content. This is because instant noodles and rice both contain carbohydrates, so they do not provide a good nutritional balance. Health experts say that a healthier side dish for instant noodles is to add a source of protein and vegetables to the instant noodles.
For example, eggs that are rich in protein can help the body get better nutritional intake. You can also add green vegetables such as mustard greens, carrots or broccoli to help provide the fiber and vitamins the body needs. In this way, instant noodles can be a dish that is more nutritious and still delicious to consume. It's okay to eat instant noodles with rice occasionally, but still pay attention to nutritional balance. To get better benefits, don't forget to add sources of protein and vegetables to make it healthier.
