A fire destroyed a house in Lheue Simpang Village, Jeunieb District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

The permanent construction house caught fire at approximately 3:30 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. The house belonged to Idris Sulaiman (71), whom he lived with his family.

The source of the fire is still unknown, with an electrical short circuit suspected. There were no fatalities in the accident.

According to residents, they initially saw the back of the kitchen on fire and a large fire.

Residents immediately woke the homeowner, who was still asleep. The homeowner and his family immediately fled. Residents also reported the incident to the Simpang Mamplam Fire Department Post and the Bireuen Main Post.

Four fire trucks arrived at the scene and immediately began extinguishing the fire, along with residents and other personnel. The fire was successfully extinguished, but the semi-permanent house occupied by five people was completely destroyed. The fire prevented it from spreading to other nearby homes.

After the fire was extinguished, Bireuen firefighters, members of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the community helped clear the remaining debris.

Following the disaster, the Bireuen Regency Government immediately distributed emergency aid to the victims.
