The main entrance gate of PT KKA Complex

Friends, on this occasion I would like to tell you about a long-abandoned PT KKA complex in our area in Jamuan, Nisam sub-district, North Aceh district, Aceh province or Western Indonesia. This long-abandoned complex has a very beautiful story of its heyday. I heard stories from some local people that PT KKA's heyday made the neighborhood economically prosperous and people had less difficulty in living their lives. Decades ago after the complex died, it had a tremendous negative impact on the condition of the complex which was no longer inhabited, not only the complex, the surrounding community also found it difficult to find work.

After seeing the entrance gate in front of me, I now show a PT KKA logo stuck in the middle of the gate which reads “Aceh kraft paper Indonesia” This logo became a symbol of PT KKA in its heyday.

After leaving the gate we saw the condition of the driveway leading into the interior of the complex to see the condition of the houses inside. The atmosphere of the driveway is starting to be filled with grass on the road and surrounded by small wooden branches on the side of the road.

I turned onto one of the roads that went to the back of the factory. With a vehicle, I continued at a low speed, looking at the wooden branches that had covered the road at the edge. After a long period of neglect this is the current condition of the interior of the complex. Because this complex has died, the security guards no longer care about this condition, even the houses are no longer inhabited, only becoming a display as a memory that this complex was once victorious in its time.

Along the road to the interior is decorated by lampposts in the middle of the road, but the current condition of the lights is only a mere display and is no longer lit as before. On the side of the road there are still areca nut trees planted to beautify the road, but not all of them are still left, only a few trunks are still intact on the side of the road as seen in the picture I shared.

From Radiata Street, you can see the factory on the left, which is also bordered by a fence. Only the building can be seen, but I will try to look from the back later.

On the left side of the Radiata road is the Pinus Elementary School, which used to be one of the places where children studied. This elementary school is no longer in use, it seems to have been abandoned by residents since PT KKA died. The name of the elementary school is Pinus, taken from the name of the Pinus puhon, where in its heyday the manufacture of Kraft paper used raw materials from pine trees.

After leaving the school I continued to explore inland until I found a pond or a kuala, but I don't know the story of this kuala. On the edge of the kuala there were several people fishing. This kuala was in the interior of the complex when I wanted to head towards the back to see the condition of the factory from the back.

Below is the scene of the pine wood pound at that time. Pine wood is found from various places, either from foreign imports or in several other places. Before the pine wood is processed, it is first allowed to stand in this place.

I then showed them the current state of the factory after a long period of inactivity. All the equipment and machinery were starting to rust because they were no longer in use. From the stories of several people, I have heard that the PT KKA factory died because it ran out of raw materials which were very difficult to find. One of the raw materials is pine trees, while the growth of pine trees also takes so long up to 20 years.

I now show you some parking lots that are still intact but have been covered in branches and long grass. This parking lot is one of the parking lots used by the complex community at that time and left unused when the complex residents left. This parking lot is also one of the proofs of PT KKA's glory at that time.

This is the entrance gate to the factory, but the interior of the factory is still guarded by security guards to prevent people from entering. In order to prevent the loss of goods inside.

There are also some houses that are still occupied by residents on the northern road. But there are also not many, only one or two. It seems a shame that so many abandoned houses have become and are no longer maintained. The yard of the house was filled with large branches that wanted to cover the walls to the attap.

Inside the compound it was very quiet as there were no people hanging around, only one or two occasionally passing by on the road bringing home grass for the sheep. At night it seems even more eerie, it's completely silent.

Here there is a kindergarten or whale school that is still intact but also no longer maintained. Even the pamphlets have fallen to the ground. Some of the games are also still intact in the courtyard, some of them are rusted.

Near the entrance gate is a mosque that is quite visible from a distance. This mosque became one of the places of worship for the people of the complex at that time and was also used for worship by all the people around this neighborhood. The mosque is located inside the compound and close to the entrance gate located on the left.

Exiting through the same entrance gate, the road is no longer as beautiful as it used to be. Understandably, maintenance was no longer prioritized after PT KKA died.

That's all the writing I can share in a review of the PT KKA complex in Jamuan village, Banda Baro subdistrict, North Aceh district, Aceh Province, Indonesia. Thank you to all friends who are here.

Respectful greetings,
@cymolan
