Waiting for Breakthroughs from New Leaders |
A number of leaders in districts and cities in Aceh resulting from the 2024 regional head elections have been officially inaugurated in accordance with existing regulations and laws. According to the agenda, on Monday (17/2/2025) at 16.30, the pair Armia Pahmi and Ismail will be inaugurated by the Governor of Aceh, Muzakir Manaf. On the same day, there will also be the inauguration of the pairs of regents and deputy regents of North Aceh and South Aceh.
The inauguration procession should not be interpreted as merely a celebration of the legitimate victory of the regional head election and becoming the regional ruler for the next five years. After the inauguration, heavy tasks await the regents/deputy regents and mayors/deputy mayors. Not to spread new promises that sometimes sound irrational, but rather to keep their promises during the campaign period.
Becoming a new leader in the midst of a difficult situation must be interpreted as an opportunity to migrate together to become more prosperous and prosperous, not an opportunity to gain privileges as a ruler or share power with supporters during the election stages.
The message from Imam Syafi'ie is still relevant to be emulated at any time that the pillars of leadership are true words, keeping secrets, keeping promises, giving advice, and fulfilling mandates.
That meaning must resonate in the hearts of the newly inaugurated regional heads, including in Aceh Tamiang Regency. The Armia Pahmi and Ismail pair shoulder heavy responsibilities amid conditions that may not be favorable such as declining regional income, reckless budget tightening that has begun to have a broad impact on economic and social conditions, to several special conditions in Aceh Tamiang that require more attention, centralized, and sustainable.
Some of these burdens include the reduction in fund transfers from the center to the regions which are not only experienced by Aceh Tamiang Regency, but all regions. Several media reported the potential loss in the Aceh Tamiang Regency Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBK), could reach IDR 74.8 billion from various sources of income. In fact, all regencies/cities in Aceh still rely on the economy from the APBK alone amidst the still low private sector activity.
In addition, State-Owned Enterprises that exploit natural resources in Aceh Tamiang, do not yet have good intentions to deposit zakat to Baitul Mal in accordance with special regulations. In fact, zakat payments from private companies and BUMN in Aceh Tamiang have great potential to drive the wheels of the people's economy while reducing poverty rates.
The Aceh Taming community is waiting for the courage of Regent Armia Pahmi to pinch all naughty companies without discrimination.
The problem of palm oil companies that are still operating even though the right to cultivate has ended, is also homework that requires serious attention. These three problems should be resolved by Armia Pahmi and Ismail within 100 working days to prove that they are trustworthy leaders in accordance with Islamic leadership values.[]
