Did you know that in Indonesia, orchids are known as "puspa pesona" (charming flower). Plants belonging to the Orchidaceae family include the moon orchid, which is one of the largest plant groups.

This is stated in the journal "Orchid Progress and Biology: Biotechnology Achievements, Translational Success, and Commercial Results." The journal was written by four authors, plant experts, including Pragya, Abhishek, Subir, and Kyeung-II.

Moon orchids grow in lowlands. This plant adapts by thickening its leaves to reduce evaporation due to high humidity.

In its taxonomy, the Giant Padma Flower belongs to the Raffleaiaceae family and is one of the largest flowers in the world. With a diameter of up to 150 cm, Rafflesia is the largest flower in the world.

Giant Padma Flower Habitat

The distribution of the Rafflesia flower includes the mountains of West Java and the lowlands along Java. Furthermore, you can find them on the southern coast of Java.

Meanwhile, the Rafflesia flower is widely distributed on the island of Sumatra. There are 27 species of Rafflesia worldwide, five of which are found in Bengkulu.
