Fear Anger and a chance of fury.
I decided to write about an essay I wrote called fear, anger and a chance of fury. some example idioms and metaphors.
I know the title of this essay sounds more like a weather report, then an essay about emotions and relationships. But if you are involved in a #stormy (difficult) relationship with someone who has large emotional swings so that you never know if their emotional state will be happy like a warm and sunny day or whether they will be sad or angry like a cold and windy day. This is of course an English idiom and also an English metaphor.
People in a #stormy relationship also understand the term #emotional #barometer as another idiom and metaphor, where the emotional barometer measures the chance of happiness like a sunny day or sadness like a cloudy day. This is of course another English idiom and also an English metaphor
Unfortunately, some people are full of fear, anger and frustration, so the people in their lives are often nervous about not knowing whether the person will wake up happy or angry or very sad. Another word used to describe great anger is fury. While fear, anger and frustration make for a bad #emotional #weather, every so often they fuse together into one emotion, which I call fury. That’s why I entitled this essay Fear, Anger and a chance of Fury. Fury is a synonym for being very angry.
Always fun to play with words and read about new meanings.
