History Points, August 30: First time an African-American is appointed to US supreme court
American history is full of racism. Millions of native Americans were killed by white peoples. It was a strange thing to consider a "black person" to be appointed to any high post. By the way, same thing is started again when racist drop down the statue in California.
In 1967 The United States Senate confirmed Thurgood Marshall to the country’s highest court of justice. Marshall was also the first African-American to have held the post of Solicitor General of the United States.
