Tugu Perlawanan TKR / TKR Resistance Monument

Bukti sejarah perlawanan rakyat dalam merebut kemerdekaan dan mengusir penjajahan di Aceh, juga terdapat di wilayah Kota Lhokseumawe. Bukti keberanian pejuang Aceh dalam melawan serdadu Jepang di Lhokseumawe dahulu dapat dilihat di kawasan Cunda. Tepatnya di jalan masuk menuju pusat pasar Cunda.

Dilokasi tersebut, berdiri sebuah tugu perlawanan rakyat terhadap Jepang oleh para pejuang yang tergabung dalam wadah Tentara keamanan Rakyat (TKR). Kisahnya, sepasukan tentara Jepang dihadang oleh para pejuang ditempat tersebut, sehingga terjadilah pertempuran sengit antara serdadu Jepang dengan pejuang di lokasi tersebut.

Oleh karena itu, untuk mengenang kisah heroik para pejuang, dibangunlah tugu tersebut yang dinamakan “Tugu Perlawanan TKR”.

Sangat mudah menjumpai tugu perlawanan rakyat tersebut. Jika memasuki pusat Kota Lhokseumawe, tidak jauh dari Simpang Selat Malaka, maka akan tampak dipersimpangan pusat pasar Cunda Tugu tersebut berdiri.
