False outrage is the order of today. Slavery wasn't a choice but let's not forget that a lot of the slaves were sold by their own people.
I also think Kanye was misunderstood. Shame that the media punishes you for words without ever waiting for explanations on context or meaning.
Slavery in a way happens today in many countries. The oppressors still rule and the oppressed still outnumber them, but choose to instead beg for crumbs from the oppressors.
Are we not choosing to be ruled by the government though? It's just the choice is obey or fight and die.

collectively we are chosing to be ruled by government
but individually we are not
if you or i fight back as individuals we die
which means that we are bound to the social conventions that keep our neighbors accepting their enslavement
see we accept to be slave's and I am not saying that is the right or wrong choice I am saying it is a choice.
