How did Mozart's music sound in its original pianoforte?
Robert Levin is an acclaimed classical performer and composer expert on the great Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart; In fact, Robert is the first Hogwood Fellow of the Academy of Ancient Music of the United Kingdom and, as part of his fellowship, he is embarking on a special project: he will record Mozart's music reproduced on his original piano.

The pianoforte dates from 1782 and was used by the genius of music to compose and act until almost the day of his death, the year 1791. Made in Vienna by the famous pianist Anton Walter, the pianoforte is two octaves shorter than a piano modern and is much lighter and smaller: it weighs only 85 kilos and measures just over two meters long. The pianoforte is now in Salzburg, in the house of Mozart, which has become a museum.
For Robert, it is an exciting opportunity to play the same instrument that Mozart used to compose more than 50 pieces. "The journey and the discovery of playing period instruments is moving in an emotional and aesthetic world, which is inhabited by the geniuses who wrote this music. We are very close to them, "says the artist.
